How to Get PPPoker Hands into Holdem Manager 3

PPPoker is one of the busiest club apps in the world, but HM3 can't read it out of the box. Here's the whole chain, from the app to a working HM3 database.

Why HM3 can't see your PPPoker hands

Holdem Manager 3 builds its database by reading the text hand histories that desktop poker clients write to disk. PPPoker is a mobile-first app: hands live inside the app as replays and statistics, not as text files in a folder HM3 can watch. So the first job is getting the hands out of the app in a structured form. The second is rewriting them in a layout HM3 already knows.

MergeConverter does the second part. It takes PPPoker hand logs and writes them as PokerStars-format hand histories, which HM3 has imported reliably for more than a decade.

Step 1: collect the hand logs

Depending on your club setup you will have one or more of these sources:

  • Hand replays shared from the app after a session.
  • Club back-office exports, which club owners and agents can pull for their tables.
  • Hand recorder files in MergeConverter JSON, the format the online converter reads directly.

Keep one file per table and session where you can. It makes blinds and table names cleaner in HM3 and helps when you need to re-convert a single session.

Step 2: convert to PokerStars format

  1. Open the MergeConverter online converter.
  2. Drop your PPPoker .json logs onto the upload area. Several files at once is fine.
  3. Read the conversion log. Every skipped hand comes with a reason.
  4. Click Download .txt.

Everything happens inside your browser tab. Your hole cards and results are not uploaded anywhere.

Step 3: import into Holdem Manager 3

In HM3, open the import section and import the downloaded file. Hands show up under the PokerStars site, and every table name starts with PPPoker followed by the club and table, so filtering by club is straightforward.

For daily play, set up folder auto-sync in the converter and add the output folder to HM3's auto-import folders. New PPPoker sessions then reach HM3 without any clicks.

Step 4: set your hero and check the numbers

  • Set your PPPoker screen name as a hero/alias in HM3 so your graphs only include your own results.
  • Open a few big pots in the replayer and compare them with the in-app replay: stacks, all-ins and the final pot should match.
  • If your club deducts rake differently from the log, add the rake field per hand. Otherwise it is worked out from the winners' amounts.

Common questions

Does it work for PLO and PLO5?

Yes. Pot-Limit Omaha converts as "Omaha Pot Limit" and five-card PLO as "5 Card Omaha Pot Limit". Whether your HM3 version reports PLO5 separately depends on the tracker.

Will HM3 show duplicate hands if I convert twice?

No. Hand numbers are stable for the same source hand, so HM3's duplicate check skips hands it already has.

Can I use a HUD at PPPoker tables?

That depends on your club's rules, and many clubs forbid real-time tools. MergeConverter is designed for post-session review: leaks, opponents and results.
